footer-logo-153x86Petite Caramel Apples are available for delivery from mid September through the end of November.

footer-logo-153x86All Petite Caramel Apples come with a topping.  Crunch is always our top seller and it does not contain any nuts.

footer-logo-153x86Ordering is now open for fall events.  We suggest orders be placed 3-4 weeks in advance of your event date, however you are welcome to place your order now or closer to your event date, whatever works best for you.

footer-logo-153x86When placing an order online, select your actual event date. Daffy Apple Petite Caramel Apple orders are automatically scheduled to arrive a few days before the event date selected on the calendar to allow time for repackaging into cellophane, transporting to the event venue, delivering to catering staff, etc. If the actual event date is not selected, the Petite Caramel Apple order will be delivered too soon or too late.

footer-logo-153x86We suggest ordering 3 packs for your wedding. Petite Caramel Apples come in their single or 3 pack retail packaging to help protect them and keep them fresh. We are unable to custom package our Petite Caramel Apples, however we do sell cellophane bags and clear plastic boxes in many different quantities. By ordering 3 packs, there will be far less packing to open.

DIY: Beyond Ribbon

Ribbon is wonderful.  Ribbon comes in every color, print, style, width, and it beautifully serves the purpose of keeping a cellophane bag, with a Petite Caramel Apple inside of it, closed.  Not to mention it is inexpensive, easy to use, and readily available.  We love ribbon, but we wanted to go beyond ribbon and see what else we could come up with.

Sparkly clothespins?  Yes!  These blue sparkly clothespins came in a package of 6 for $1.99 or around 33 cents each.

They fit perfectly around a Petite Caramel Apple stick and you could add a piece of clear tape to secure the cellophane bag further.  We’re thinking baby shower with this idea!

Sparkly seems to be a theme developing in this post.  Here are some lovely little sparkly green gemstone brads.  This package contains 9 gemstone brads for $2.99, or around 33 cents each.  We found these in the scrapbooking section and they come in a bunch of different colors and shapes and sizes!

The backs of these gemstone brads are just like regular brads.

They unfold and the metal is plenty strong enough to hold them in place, though, again, you could secure the cellophane bag closed with a piece of clear tape first. We would like to think our next DIY post will be less sparkly, but we can’t make any promises…

Q&A Tuesday: Do you make Daffy Apple Petite Caramels Apples without nuts?

Absolutely! We offer crunch, which does not include nuts, and sprinkle toppings. All of our topping options can be viewed here. Though we follow strict allergen guidelines when processing Petite Caramel Apples, please be aware that all Daffy Farms and Daffy Apple products are produced in a facility that also handles peanuts and tree nuts.

Q&A Tuesday: How are Daffy Apple Petite Caramel Apples packaged and what does the packaging look like?

singleDaffy Apple Petite Caramel Apples are packaged in either a single pack or a 3 pack retail package.  We are unable to package and ship our Petite Caramel Apples in cellophane bags because they need their single pack or 3 pack packaging to3pack keep them fresh and protect them during shipping.  Also, they must be sold and delivered to all of our customers in their single pack or 3 pack retail packaging so that we meet all nutritional and allergen labeling guidelines as set by the FDA.

TIP: If ordering for an event and repackaging Petite Caramel Apples, we recommend ordering 3 packs so there will be less packaging to open!

DIY: A Rainbow of Ribbon

Ribbon.  The classic closure.  It keeps a cellophane bag with a Petite Caramel Apple in it closed and adds a decorative touch.  The problem, though, is that you have to buy a whole roll of the same color, that is, until now.  Look what we found!  It came from the scrapbooking section of a craft store and is called exactly what you would think it should be called: Ribbon Scrap Pack.

This package cost $3.99 and it contains 12 pieces of ribbon that are 1 yard each, which we found to be long enough to cut in half and tie 24 bags closed.  So that comes out to around 17 cents per ribbon.

Here is what it looks like if you tie a single ribbon on each cellophane bag.  We opted for no bow and cut even more length off of the ribbon, but we promise there was enough ribbon for a bow before we started getting crazy with the scissors!

And here is what it looks like if you double up the ribbons.  If you tie two ribbons on each bag, the Ribbon Scrap Pack will only be enough for 12 apples, at around 34 cents each, but the mix of colors does look pretty neat!

Q&A Tuesday: I missed Petite Caramel Apple season, but I need some caramel apples for my event—what other options do you offer?

We offer several other options! Our Caramel Apple Kits are popular, super easy to use and include caramel, sticks, and topping. They come in all different sizes, so you can make 15 caramel apples or 500 caramel apples, or any number in between. We also sell Bulk Caramel and Caramel Apple Supplies separately, so you can mix and match caramels, toppings, stick sizes, and packaging. And, our Premium Caramel Apples ship all year long.

DIY: Inspiration from Cupcakes

We are often asked about the size of our Petite Caramel Apples and whether or not they will fit in a cupcake wrapper.  The good news is that they do!

We picked up these super cute cupcake wrappers so we could show you.  Each package contains 50 wrappers and was $1.99, or about 4 cents per cupcake wrapper.

The bright colors of these cupcake wrappers would be fantastic for a birthday party, but think of all of the options this opens up.  They make cupcake wrappers in every pattern and color imaginable!

And if they need to be a take home treat, they look great in a cellophane bag with a ribbon, too!

Q&A Tuesday: What is the difference between a Daffy Apple Petite Caramel Apple and a Daffy Apple Premium Caramel Apple?

We make two types of caramel apples—Petite Caramel Apples and Premium Caramel Apples.

Petite Caramel Apples are sold by the case of 24 or half case of 12. They are a single serving size each and make fantastic party, event, and wedding favors. They are the same apples available at local grocery stores in the fall and they can be ordered in either single pack or 3 pack retail packaging. They are only available during the month of April and from September to PetitePremiumBaseballNovember.

Premium Caramel Apples are sold individually in gift packaging, either in a Daffy Apple Red Box or in a Clear Caramel Apple Box. They are generally considered 3-4 servings per apple so they are great for sharing and are perfect as an individual gift item for a holiday or event. They are made with a thicker, richer premium caramel and they are available all year long.

DIY: Apples and Caramel and Leaves, Oh my!

Close your eyes and picture an apple.  What do you see?  Bright red or green skin, a brown stem, a crisp little leaf?  That’s what we see too!  So, we traveled down to our local craft store with the traditional image of an apple in mind to serve as inspiration for DIY decorating our Petite Caramel Apples.

We found these bunches of leaves in the floral department.

Use-1

The green leaves were $1.99 for 24, or around 9 cents each.  The white iridescent leaves were $1.99 for 11, but we think we might have had an extra in our bundle, we are assuming there were suppose to be 10, which means they were around 20 cents each.  The stem of each leaf is made of wire, so it is super easy to use and works well in keeping our clear cellophane bags closed.

Use-5

We’re partial to our Petite Red Candy Caramel Apples with Crunch with the green leaves attached, but the white iridescent leaves do add some nice sparkle!

We also came across burlap leaves.  Burlap has a fantastic rustic fall feel to it and it is everywhere right now! These leaves were all attached to the same branch, 7 in total, for $1.99, or around 29 cents each.  What we discovered while working with them, though, is that they can easily be detached and used like the other leaves with metal bendy stems.

Use-6

How cute would a whole table full of these be at a wedding reception?  Or maybe one at each place setting?

Use-7

We also picked up a coral colored burlap flower.  These burlap flowers come in many different colors, so they could coordinate with a number of theme color combos.  At $1.99 each, the addition of the flower may become a bit extravagant for 250 favors, but for a smaller party or as individual gifts, we think the flower dresses up one of our Petite Caramel Apples in quite a lovely way.
