DIY: A Rainbow of Ribbon

Ribbon.  The classic closure.  It keeps a cellophane bag with a Petite Caramel Apple in it closed and adds a decorative touch.  The problem, though, is that you have to buy a whole roll of the same color, that is, until now.  Look what we found!  It came from the scrapbooking section of a craft store and is called exactly what you would think it should be called: Ribbon Scrap Pack.

This package cost $3.99 and it contains 12 pieces of ribbon that are 1 yard each, which we found to be long enough to cut in half and tie 24 bags closed.  So that comes out to around 17 cents per ribbon.

Here is what it looks like if you tie a single ribbon on each cellophane bag.  We opted for no bow and cut even more length off of the ribbon, but we promise there was enough ribbon for a bow before we started getting crazy with the scissors!

And here is what it looks like if you double up the ribbons.  If you tie two ribbons on each bag, the Ribbon Scrap Pack will only be enough for 12 apples, at around 34 cents each, but the mix of colors does look pretty neat!

DIY: More Inspiration from Cupcakes

OK, we know you’re on to us with the cupcake thing now.  It’s true, though, many fantastic cupcake ideas can also be used for our Petite Caramel Apples!  Today we introduce the cupcake box.  This package contains 3 cupcake boxes for $2.99, or about a dollar a box.

These boxes take a little bit of modification, but they are the perfect size for Petite Caramel Apples.  Though the window is suppose to be in the top, when used for a cupcake, we flipped the box over on its side and punched a hole in what is now the top to make room for a stick.

We then put a piece of parchment in the the new bottom of the box, to make our cupcake box food safe, and put a Petite Caramel Apple with Carnival Sprinkles inside.  Since we’ve turned the box on it’s side, it isn’t quite as secure as usual, so it may not be a bad idea to stick it closed with a little piece of tape or a cute sticker or seal.

Q&A Tuesday: I missed Petite Caramel Apple season, but I need some caramel apples for my event—what other options do you offer?

We offer several other options! Our Caramel Apple Kits are popular, super easy to use and include caramel, sticks, and topping. They come in all different sizes, so you can make 15 caramel apples or 500 caramel apples, or any number in between. We also sell Bulk Caramel and Caramel Apple Supplies separately, so you can mix and match caramels, toppings, stick sizes, and packaging. And, our Premium Caramel Apples ship all year long.

DIY: Inspiration from Cupcakes

We are often asked about the size of our Petite Caramel Apples and whether or not they will fit in a cupcake wrapper.  The good news is that they do!

We picked up these super cute cupcake wrappers so we could show you.  Each package contains 50 wrappers and was $1.99, or about 4 cents per cupcake wrapper.

The bright colors of these cupcake wrappers would be fantastic for a birthday party, but think of all of the options this opens up.  They make cupcake wrappers in every pattern and color imaginable!

And if they need to be a take home treat, they look great in a cellophane bag with a ribbon, too!
