Love from the press is always good, especially when we get to enjoy the love twice in one week! On Tuesday, PershiableNews.com highlighted us with their post, Daffy Apple Extends Business To New Markets, Changing Name To Daffy Farms. And this morning, we won a front page spot on Candy Industry‘s website, with their piece, Daffy Apple changes name to Daffy Farms as it expands caramel candy business. Both articles discuss the Daffy Farms name change as well as our current All Natural Baker’s Caramel and forthcoming All Natural Dipping Caramel.
We’re a member of the IDDBA! What does that stand for? International Dairy Deli Bakery Association! Every year the IDDBA hosts one of the largest food oriented trade shows in the country and this year’s event happens to be in our hometown of Denver, June 1-3, 2014. The show is only open to dairy, deli, and bakery professionals, however if you fall into one of those categories and are attending, be sure to visit us in Booth #4515!
It has been a busy week at Daffy Farms! We tested some new caramel corn recipes, made some website changes, and acquired quite a few new Facebook friends! The highlight of the week, though, was an all day photo shoot with Annette Slade Photography, Inc. featuring our All Natural Baker’s Caramel. One of our newest products, our All Natural Baker’s Caramel has been used in desserts by Whole Foods in several locations throughout Colorado for a couple of years now. We also ship it via our website to bakeries and small home based businesses across the country. With a simple ingredient list that includes fresh cream, pure cane sugar, and butter, our All Natural Baker’s Caramel has no artificial colors or flavors and is gluten free. It will be one of our star products at the IDDBA Seminar and Expo this June, so we needed some high quality promotional photos showcasing its use as a filling and topping for baked goods. Chocolate, nuts, whipped cream and our caramel were on display in the form of cakes and brownies and tarts. We even managed to sneak in a couple of pictures of an apple being dipped into our Traditional Caramel. The photos turned out fantastic and we can’t wait to share the final results with you!
Daffy Apple Traditional Caramel and Daffy Apple Red Candy Caramel are not gluten free. The good news is, we do currently offer an All Natural Baker’s Caramel that is gluten free and great for baking applications. Based on the success and recipe of the All Natural Baker’s Caramel, we are planning to offer an All Natural Dipping Caramel, for use for caramel apples, which will also be gluten free. Our All Natural Dipping Caramel should be ready for retail sale by the time caramel apple season rolls around again this fall!
